Book Review and Giveaway – Enjoy Your Money!

by Mike on June 3, 2010

I was lucky enough to obtain a review copy of J. Steve Miller’s new book, Enjoy Your Money!: How to Make It, Save It, Invest It and Give It. First let me share my thoughts with you and then I’ll tell you how you can get a free copy for yourself.

When I first sat down and started reading Enjoy Your Money, I thought I was going to hate it.  It’s written in a conversational style, almost like a screenplay, and it got off to a slow start as it introduced the characters.

I was tempted to toss it aside, but fortunately I stuck with it a bit longer because it’s loaded with great information.  Each chapter recounts a breakfast in which a group of friends discuss various financial topics, and each teaches a valuable lesson on saving money, earning more money, and investing.

Enjoy Your Money is geared toward young people in high school and college, so I understand why the author used this kind of writing style.  In fact, I think high school teachers could use it to teach their students financial lessons.  Rather than just preach to their students, they could have them reenact each chapter and then discuss them.

Would I recommend Enjoy Your Money?

Yes.  It’s an easy read and it will provide a strong foundation of knowledge for you to build on. And it would make a great graduation gift!

How to win a free copy of Enjoy Your Money!

The author was kind enough to offer a free copy to one of my readers.  I’m going to make this giveaway as simple as possible…all you have to do is leave a comment below saying “I want to enjoy my money!”

On Sunday June 13, I’ll use Random.org to select a winner.  I’ll contact the winner directly via email (make sure you use your primary email when commenting) to get your mailing info and then I’ll forward it to the author.  He’ll send the book out himself and I won’t be responsible if it gets lost in the mail, etc.

For more information on the book (book description, free chapters, interviews, etc.), see the press page at: http://jstevemiller.com/blog/?page_id=578
