I Launched A New Site!

by Mike

Lately I haven’t been posting as often as usual and I also haven’t been commenting on other blogs as much (though I have still been visiting), but it’s not because of the holidays or that I’m lazy.

The truth is I’ve been working on a new site that I’m finally ready to announce!  It’s called How to Make a Website 101, and it’s basically a guide to creating websites from the ground up, no experience necessary.

Now I know a good number of my readers already have their own blogs but for those of you who don’t, you really need to check out my site and let me prove that anyone can learn how to make a website…yes, even YOU!

Once you get there, you’ll see a section called Getting Started.  Those are all static pages and they make up what I consider the core curriculum.  They’ll walk you through the basics of getting your site up and running.  I still have a few more pages to add on topics like Niche and Keyword research, monetization, setting up a newsletter, and more.

There will also be lots of blog-style posts and those are listed under Recent Articles.  There’s only one at the moment but plenty more to come.

Please feel free to stop by and kick the tires.  Then drop me an email and let me know what you think!

Wow, what a great first post. I would have loved to have had that info when I started. I look forward to tracking it’s progress as I am sure there is a lot I can still learn, that is for sure!

Thanks! It’s a bit long but it says exactly what it is and it’s a good keyword phrase.

Congrats! Like the domain name as well. Your post is nice, but I would have had keyword search as the step number one and then the domain name related to your keyword results. If your domain name has to much SEO competition, chances are it will take a lot of time to get noticed. But, that is a way to start, surely not the only one!

I agree! Keyword research is vital…that’s why I’m writing up a whole separate page for that. It will be appearing soon.

Good to know! I’ll check upon it for sure! I used Market Samurai recently and this tool rocks! I was working to find the proper keywords for a niche site and the results I first got on Google keywords search seemed to be not as good when looking into them deeply with Market Samurai. I was very surprised by that. This is why keyword search is my first priority since then.

Do you plan on focusing more on static website owners or bloggers for the site? Looks like it’s off to a good start, like the design.

Thanks BV. It’s going to focus both on blogs and static sites, though it will take some time to really flesh out the topics.
